.HE SERVED IN CO.H-45TH U.S.COLORED VOLUNTEER TROOPS.HE ORIGINALLY ENLISTED IN THE 22ND U.S.COL.TROOPS AND WAS TRANSFERRED TO THE 45TH U.S.COLORED TROOPS.HE IS CREDITED WITH BEING THE LAST SURVIVING CIVIL WAR SOLDIER IN NEW JERSEY TO DIE. BORN-JAN.25-1844 DIED-APRIL 26-1946
