UNION CIVIL WAR SOLDIER.MUSTERED IN AS CAPTAIN IN CO.D-26TH NEW YORK VOL.INFANTRY.
TRANSFERRED TO U.S.ARMY AS ASSISTANT ADJUTANT GENERAL. HE RESIGNED IN NOV. 1862 TO ACCEPT LT.COLONEL COMMISION IN THE 157TH NEW YORK INFANTRY.HE WAS SHOT IN THE HEAD ON JULY 1-1863 AT THE BATTLE OF GETTYSBURG AND DIED THE NEXT DAY JULY 2-1863.
