UNION CIVIL WAR NURSE. BORN IN SOMERVILLE,N.J.SERVED AS NURSE DURING THE PENINSULA,ANTIETAM AND GETTYSBURG CAMPAIGNS. MARRIED IN 1861 TO GENERAL FRANCIS BARLOW WHOM SHE NURSED BACK TO HEALTH FROM WOUNDS SEVERAL TIMES. SHE DIED OF TYPHUS FEVER IN SERVICE OF HER COUNTRY.
