Samuel Ford of Green Bank, NJ served with the 23rd New Jersey, K Company. He fought at the Battle of Fredericksburg and Salem Church in VA. Information from the NJ Archives lists he was admitted to the hospital from January 1863 to February 1863, but no reason was given. After serving his nine-month term he returned to Green Bank and raised his family.
